Restaurant "PORTO CAMARA" in Okuklje bay, the Treasure of Island Mljet

Porto Camara
Porto Camara

The restaurant Porto Camara is located next to the sea, in Okuklje Bay. Okuklje bay is a frequent destination of boaters because it is situated in one of the most protected coves on the Island of Mljet. It takes about 50 minutes from Dubrovnik with a fast boat Nona Ana. Nona Ana doesn't take you directly to Okuklje, but to its regular harbor Polace. The owner of the restaurant or an employee will be happy to wait for you in Polace with a cute little car called Mini-Brum. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the restaurant while enjoying the landscape of Mljet on your way there.

When you finally arrive, your "driver" will take you to a wooden cottage on the surface of the sea decorated with a fish net. The atmosphere of this little fishermen place and the food made by authentic recipes creates unique art out of the ritual of enjoying food.

The Rich Menu

Porto Camara offers you daily fresh fish, shrimps, clams, and other seafood specialties, as well as different grilled meat dishes. Some of the sea food is freshly caught by Pero, one of the owners of the restaurant, also called Sea Wolf. The food is made by a nice lady from Bosnia and Herzegovina who comes here to cook every summer. People who visited the restaurant praise her culinary skills. Eating in the wooden cottage on the sea shore, without a radio, surrounded only by the sounds of nature, is a great pleasure. After eating, a nice walk across Okuklje will make the visit complete. Okuklje is a natural beach and a path will show you all of its little secrets. People who came here once did not think twice whether to come back next summer or not.
